This image portrays the
legend of Daga the Mistress of the lakes and rivers. A Siberian Sedna. Every
lake or river has its own Mistress, a Su-Enese, the Mistress Daga. According
to the legend she lives at her lake, and if hunters know how communicate to
her and give and her gifts, she presents them with lots of prey. The very
skill of communicating with her and to give her gifts is deeply tabooed by
the Natives of Siberia.
